the health and safety of our campus community is ub’s priority and it’s up to each of us, individually, to practice health-conscious behaviors. whether it’s wearing a face mask, social distancing or staying home if you're sick, each small step has big potential consequences.

The use of face coverings (preferably a multi-layered cloth covering or a surgical mask) is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to the most recent  gathered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Social distancing means staying at least 6 feet away from others.
One of the toughest challenges is getting around campus while maintaining a healthy 6-foot social distance from others. In addition to wearing a mask at all times, social distancing is highly recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Cleaning and disinfecting of most public spaces at UB is the responsibility of University Facilities’ custodial team. This team works hard to routinely clean and disinfect all UB public spaces in accordance with CDC and Department of Health guidelines. But we all need to do our part and wipe down personal work spaces, private offices and commonly touched areas to stop the spread of illness.

Proper handwashing is always the preferred method for infection control. When that is not possible, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

UB will post directional and health promotion signage in high-traffic areas. This signage provides guidance to ensure safe social distance between individuals and to decrease density where possible. Some signage is intended to raise awareness about healthy behaviors and UB requirements to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
