UB Employee Safe Return to Campus

amid the unprecedented and challenging circumstances of the covid-19 pandemic, the university at buffalo is committed to protecting the health and safety of the ub community while remaining focused on our academic, research and community service mission. ub’s policies and protocols for responding to the covid-19 pandemic are rooted in our concern for the safety of the entire campus community – students, staff, faculty, guests, vendor partners and the public.

as our state and our region prepare for gradual and phased reopening of various activities, we will work together to develop and implement plans to safeguard the health and safety of the university community. the following protocols will serve as a guide for university employees as our phased return-to-campus plan is implemented.

Need to Know

  • The university is not closed. Academic and administrative staff remain fully operational — on and off campus. We are actively preparing for the fall semester.
  • UB nonessential employees will continue working remotely until further notice.
  • UB has convened planning committees to prepare for a successful summer and fall semester. Learn more about the planning committees.
  • Most summer 2020 classes will be held online, with the exception of some clinical programs. Please check with your academic department.
Restart Readiness Checklist

help our community stay safe and decrease the spread of covid-19. make these behaviors part of your routine. 

  • Do a symptom self-check every day before coming to campus.
  • Stay home if you are sick or experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Social distance: Stay 6 feet away from others.
  • Wear a cloth face mask whenever social distancing isn’t possible.
  • Wash your hands frequently, or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
  • Dispose of used tissues immediately and wash your hands.
